Music for the entrance of the bride and for the exit of the wedding party

Trumpet Tune in D Major by Henry Purcell
Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clark
Prelude from the TeDeum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier
Overture from Music for the Royal Fireworks by G.F. Handel
The Rejoicing (La Rejouissance) from Music for the Royal Fireworks by Handel
Allegro Maestoso (Alle Hornpipe) from Water Music Suite No. 2 in D by Handel
Allegro Moderato by Handel

You've probably noticed I have not included the "traditional" stuff, and there's a reason for that. Wagner's "Bridal Chorus" from his opera Lohengrin--popularly known as "Here Comes the Bride" (and reminiscent of the infamous school yard lyrics) celebrates a marriage that collapses in betrayal no more than 20 minutes after it is sung. And Mendelssohn's incidental music in A Midsummer Night's Dream (The "Wedding March," a selection often used at the end of ceremonies) accompanies a pretended wedding. Neither of these is appropriate for a Nuptial Mass, not to mention that they have become trite from overuse. Think before you decide on these! You deserve better!
